Patient presentation and recorded decisions

Assessment & Treatment Planning

Patient goal: Lower and soften the frontal hairline while improving visible coverage across the frontal scalp and temporal regions in a way that remains proportionate to the patient's facial features and available donor capacity.

Assessment context: High frontal hairline, temporal recession and noticeable reduction in visible density along the anterior hairline margin.

Planning rationale: Sapphire FUE was selected to support FUE-based follicular-unit harvesting and controlled recipient-site creation across the frontal and temporal treatment zones. Planning focused on recipient-site direction, angle and distribution in relation to the patient's Afro-textured hair characteristics and existing hair pattern.

Design notes: The frontal hairline was planned according to the patient's facial proportions and treatment goals, using a softly curved anterior design with subtle irregularity rather than a rigid linear border. The temporal transitions were planned to follow the natural direction and curl pattern of the patient's Afro-textured hair.

Recorded Procedure

Follicular units were harvested from the posterior scalp donor area using FUE-based extraction with planning adapted to Afro-textured follicular curvature. Recipient sites were created across the planned frontal and temporal zones using Sapphire blades according to the intended direction, angle and distribution, followed by graft placement according to the treatment design.

Clinical Interpretation

Documented Observation

The pre-treatment scalp record describes high frontal hairline, temporal recession and noticeable reduction in visible density along the anterior hairline margin. The recorded treatment field was the frontal hairline, temporal corners and frontal scalp. The recorded procedure used 2,800 grafts. At 12 months, the clearest visual change is concentrated at the frontal hairline, with additional photographed change through the temporal corners and frontal scalp. The treatment did not target the crown, so these photographs should not be interpreted as evidence of crown restoration. Because tight curl can increase the apparent coverage seen in two-dimensional photographs, the images are a visual record of this patient's result rather than a direct measure of density. This is the documented result of one patient and does not predict another patient's outcome.
